Talking Heads
by Alan Bennett
Friday 3rd February
The lives of three women are split open as through their monologue their joys and foibles as human beings are unwittingly revealed. This probing bittersweet comedy satirises the frailties of the human psyche. It elaborates on the experiences of connection and isolation both to ourselves and to each other. The women tell their stories from the only place they can, the subjective self. We enjoy an intensely personal and private tour of their lives, sensitively navigating the recognisable ridiculousness found in the mundane and the familiar.

Top Girls
by Caryl Churchill
Tuesday 13th March
One of the seminal plays of the twentieth century,Top Girls flashes with razor-sharp wit and ingenious theatricality. Thatcher's England: hard-nosed, go-getting businesswoman Marlene is hosting a dinner party to celebrate her promotion to MD of the Top Girls Employment Agency. Her guests, all powerful women from myth and history, make for an extraordinary gathering. Top Girlsbecomes a muscular, moving study of success – the compromises Marlene has made and, chillingly, what happens to those left behind. Max Stafford-Clark directed the premiere of Top Girls in 1982. His brand new production, of a play that is now celebrated as a modern classic, was a hugely acclaimed hit in the West End in 2011.

The Hound of the Baskervilles
By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Friday 11th May
Sir Hugo Baskerville was the picture of aristocratic excess, drunkenness and debauchery until he was struck down by a demonic hound sent to punish his wickedness – or so the legend tells. Two hundred years later his descendant Sir Charles apparently meets a similar fate, dying of fright in the grounds of Baskerville Hall. Can Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson solve the mystery of the Hound of the Baskervilles before Sir Charles’ heir comes to an equally gruesome end? The Hound of the Baskervillesis one of the greatest stories of the 20th century and its macabre appeal has made it the most popular of the Sherlock Holmes adventures. In this new production, Oldham Coliseum Theatre join forces with imitating the dog, an innovative visual design team. Together they fuse different theatrical traditions to create a dark and sinister world.
