St.Petrock’s and Christmas Greetings at the Mint
There will be a board in the Mint Centre at the beginning of
advent with a Christmas greeting from the Mint Church.
You are welcome to pin on to it a card or Christmas greeting to
your friends within the Mint and put a £1 donation into one of the
collection boxes. Money will go to St Petrock’s day centre for
homeless people and towards paying off the Mint Redevelopment debts – you can choose
which to support.

CALLING ALL CAROLLERS!
Thursday 12th December
between 6.00 and 7.30 pm
Meet outside in the Mint forecourt. Why not take a break from the Christmas shopping and come and sing some carols for a while and enjoy a welcome cup of coffee/tea and biscuits, which will be available in Reception. We plan to have some instrumentalists, preferably wind and brass players to accompany our singing. If you would like to join us please let me know. If you don’t fancy singing or playing then how about sparing us a half hour or so to rattle a collecting tin? This is a fun way to raise money for the NCH Action for Children Appeal.
SERVICE OF LESSONS AND CAROLS
Sunday December 15th 6.30pm at the Mint
Our annual service of lessons and carols will follow our usual formula of mixing the familiar with the less familiar. We are introducing three new carols this year: John Rutter’s ‘All Bells in Paradise’ which was commissioned for last year’s Carols from Kings College, Bob Chilcott’s haunting ‘The Advent Candle’ written this year, and a sparkling arrangement of the familiar ‘Good Christian men’ by one of the most distinguished directors of music at Kings, who died just a year ago – Philip Ledger. We also mark the centenary of Benjamin Britten’s birth by including perhaps the best known and most accessible of his carols – Hymn to the Virgin. We shall, as in previous years have a brass quintet from South West Brass and we hope to see a large and vocally energetic congregation to share in this atmospheric service.
